Family Yoga

When families get together to do Yoga it brings them together in such a different way.  They never know what to expect and every time they practise together, they come away having had a wonderful and valuable experience together.  I frequently find very reluctant young teenagers end up being keen yogis.  Suddenly they have an opportunity to relax, to feel into their bodies and notice things that arise in their minds.  They learn co-ordination, breath control, body awareness, balance.  They start to enquire into all sorts of things.  Interesting discussions on the nature of reality are often started as the class wraps up and packs away.  Children are so responsive, that they pick up on a lot and get a huge amount from Yoga - from ease in their tight muscles, where their bones have grown faster than the muscles can to mental clarity and emotional release.  They discover they can do things their parents can't and vice versa; they often start competitive and then realise they don't have to be - they can just be.  They can fall about laughing, then work hard and exhaust themselves and then discover that they can actually be very still.

In the relaxed and intimate space at farnhamloveyoga, families can come along and request a particular type of experience, play music that suits them and enjoy an intimacy with what is with the people they are most connected to.  I love taking family Yoga sessions.  I feel it's such a gift that they are giving each other and I feel very privileged to be able to be part of such special sessions.

I've had feedback like:
"We always leave on such a high."
"Sometimes I have to just stop and watch because I love to see they are enjoying it so much."
"I am amazed to discover there is so much more to Yoga than I'd realised.  I though it would just help with  A's tightness, but it has helped on so many other levels."
"D was gutted to miss today's session.  It was the best we've had."
"How do you get the kids to relax like that?  Can I record it and turn you on at bedtime?"

At £40 or £50 a session, depending on the size of the group, it isn't an expensive outing.  Lots of families are very busy evenings and week ends, so we book in sessions monthly or on an ad hoc basis, to fit in with schedules.  Please get in touch if you are tempted to try Yoga sessions with any friends or family group.

"I was a complete novice when I started about 6 months ago, now I try not to miss a session. Fiona really does help people at every level to enjoy yoga. As an aside it has really helped with work stress, parenting and my mental health generally (which I was not expecting!)" Juliet

"The Jones Family have been practicing
yoga with Fi for all of this year. I take my husband and two tweens/teens to the session. We all love it and benefit from the exercises to the deep recharge relaxation at the end. The kids really unwind. Not an easy thing to do, teaching awkward young bodies that are growing and learning to move. And guiding stiff older bodies that need new strength. We love you Fiona and cant wait for the next time!" Elise

"
Fiona’s yoga classes offer the perfect opportunity to develop your yoga practice, whatever your current level. She is hugely sensitive to each person’s needs and  takes great care to fine-tune her individual support." Rob

"As a newbie to yoga, I have found Fiona to be an excellent teacher. She is very patient, even with uncoordinated people such as myself! She regularly adapts the exercises to the individuals' needs so you get the maximum benefit, and gently encourages you to go that little bit further. So yes, recommended." Chris

"
Farnham friends, go to this class! It's the best. That is all." Josh
